Effective communications must be a core competency as the “responsibility” of everyone in the organization. A key element of organizational communications is the messages that come from leaders. Leadership communication is an important component of leadership effectiveness. There are many components to building effective leadership communication.

According to Hackman & Johnson (2009), leadership communication style includes communication and behavior that impacts a leader’s engagement and interaction with followers.
